Objective

To start my wood manufacturing career in an interesting, challenging and fulfilling job. I will accomplish this by using the skill sets I have acquired over the past two years in the Wood Manufacturing Program and applying them to a job. This will allow me be able to hone and improve upon my skills in order to become a more effective wood manufacturing technologist.

Responsibilities included assisting in an AutoCAD night course located at the Nova Scotia Community College, Marconi.

Summer 2005

Responsibilities included a broad range of collecting, interrupting, preparing and reviewing data for several process-improvement projects.

Responsibilities included obtaining information from customers regarding their shipment that is coming into Canada.

Skills gained: keyboarding, phone skills, ability to handle very upset customers, teamwork, able to work under daily time deadlines.

Responsible for taking instructions, performing tasks unsupervised.

Experience: brick work (pavers, patios), retaining walls, some bed design, planting, deck construction.

Responsibilities included; working in a team atmosphere, unsupervised, AutoCAD, MS excel and word work.

Field work included; surveying , and site supervisor for minor project.

February 2006

I became a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers in February 2006 to future my education through self directed study. I will be trying to obtain a certificate for a Certified Manufacturing Technologist. For more information please visit www.sme.org

University of New Brunswick

2002-2003

The 2002 – 2003 school year I was the President of Neill House, a residence on the UNB campus. Some of my responsibilities included:

• Chairing the house committee.
• Supervising other committee members and helping them complete their appointed duties when requested.
• Organizing all events and activities for Neill House for during the school year.
• Organize our fundraiser Cops for Cancer TM which made over $12,000.
• Acting as a liaison between the house and house team and other houses.

• Wood Manufacturing class representative at 2005 employer breakfast.
• Official volunteer for Nova Scotia Skills In Demand Competition, 2005.
